An amazing new study has shown that it’s not roses, heart-shaped chocolates or romantic walks on the beach that can make you happy – all you need is a partner that eats healthily!
In a study of 1,000 participants,an established review website found that being in a relationship with a healthy eater can make you happy regardless of whether you too eat well or not.
An astounding 94% of non-calorie counters who were with health food enthusiasts were super happy with their loved one. In addition, 83% of people on a diet dating other people on a diet were content with their other half.
The unhappiest participants of the study? Health food fanatics who dated non-health food fanatics. Only 74% of them said they were happy with in their situation. Even those people that loved junk food stated that they were satisfied in their relationship with their fellow junk food lover.
So what can we learn from this? Well, look at the person that you spend the most time with (whether this is a best mate or a spouse!). If they are sticking to a healthy eating plan, then it is easier for you to do the same. It’s understandably very difficult to sit in the same room as someone eating a gigantic pizza whilst you crunch your way through your 3rd salad of the day.
Strangely enough, studies have also shown that even if you’re not actively trying to lose weight but your partner IS, you can also lose a few pounds too.
